I Don't Mind - Wera

Description

The "NEVER" characters are illustrated in their approximate order of significant appearance in the novel, and not in order of importance. Just so you know. Still no news of the specific date of publishing, but it is expected to be soon.

This is Wera. Well, that would be me, to be honest, and yet not quite me. This is Wera the book character. Younger, more naive, more brown-haired, more dorky-looking. And yes I know the picture totally sucks and it should have been in Scraps, but I had to get the poster project going right nevertheless. And as much as I hate and suck at drawing myself, especially my old self, there goes Wera. Weird, unwilling to conform, insecure, grim, trying to change society, compensating with brains and painting for her lack of great looks, mad about her one true love as well as Frankie's music, and having the tendency to establish friendships with strange creatures and even stranger people... The random outcast girl that later became known as the Meat Mistress and the mourning virgin of a dark wonderland, lost in her own mind half the time and her fiend's mind the rest of it, Wera has indeed made a maze out of her conscience. And there are certainly many more consciences involved in it. One thing about her is, she really doesn't mind inviting someone over into her mind (another lame mind joke) - which is why sometimes it gets a little too crowded there. The background for the picture is the rather simplified and uglified scenery of a patch of Death Land, and particularly the two-skulls-and-a-rose oak/rose tree, her reserved spot in Frankie's private universe. And, of course, the main difference between the Wera you know and character Wera: the heart like a chainsaw.

I do not own such a piece of jewelry - but I'd very much like to. A necklace representing a heart cold, strong and steely, sharpened on breaking enough to work like a chainsaw. A gift from a friend that will change everything...

Too many spoilers, I know. Better-looking characters coming soon.

ah, and what on earth are you on a bout. I've always loved the strong, line-driven way you draw faces. They're inevitably full of character - conventionally "pretty" is not my cupp o' tea, and not, just for the record, something i do well in life or on paper either. Then again, is there any need too, with such strong faces to draw instead?

by the way, you amaze me with how quickly you got a confident, competent grip on this digital colouring thing...
