Literature Text

I heard the wheat fields’ golden symphony
The outcry of a thousand throats in order
A gloriously golden misery
For misery and glory know no borders

I found us wandering in the crops on fire
As yellow as the break of red new dawn
As yellow as the black inviting pyre
More glorious and golden than a throne

And each – a grain within a sea of yellow
And each – a blade of sunlight on the rising
Two rising blades for every fallen fellow
And yellow spills all over the horizon

And in the hour of winter’s holocaust
Would be the time to guess my favorite color
A blazing memory of summer lost
Is misery
And misery is power

There is no you and me in such a story
In chance and choice and chains you are my brother
For all time chained in misery and glory
And I’m the same
And I am not another
Inspired by a friend, dedicated to many. Finally not feeling quite alone in the universe (even though poem may be mediocre) :)
